Is That the Easter Bunny??

Each year Adam's dad plans an Easter hayride for the Matula side of the family. The hayride begins at his parents house. After a short ride, we stop to pick wildflowers and the big boys pull moss out of the trees. They hayride then takes us to "The Hill" which is where Adam's grandparents' house is. (Adam's sister Angie and her famliy live there now.) When we get to the house, each child makes an Easter nest from the moss and wildflowers. The Easter Bunny will deposit gifts here...if we are lucky! Here is Braden's first Easter nest:
After each nest is marked with a name, the hayride resumes. You never know when, and you never know how...but the Easter Bunny will soon make an appearance. In fact...there are TWO Easter Bunnies in Hallettsville! A few years ago they rode horses. The next year they rode a 4-wheeler (and one bunny even knee boarded off the back of the 4-wheeler at one point). The following year the bunnies borrowed Uncle Jed's old truck, and last year the bunnies rode in style in a yellow Jeep. This year the bunnies had a little trick up their sleeves!!

As we pulled away from the house, and into the pasture, Easter Bunny ears were spotted. The crowed went wild (well...the kids did, anyway). They hayride came to a stop, and the kids piled off. Eagerly the children in the family RAN toward the ears...to catch these bunnies once and for all! As they came within a few yards, their running slowed to cautious walking...until...they realized the bunny ears were FAKE!! The bunnies had fooled us this year! If you look closely at this picture, you can see the ears over the hay and the kids are just realizing these don't belong to any bunny!

All the kids re-boarded the hayride. It didn't take long before the real bunnies were spotted...just on the other side of the tank. They were really enjoying our foolishness! They were laughing so hard, hitting their knees...rubbing in the fact that they had fooled us this year!

Okay...blogger has decided it is not going to let me add any more pictures to this blog. Please see following blog for the rest of the story!!
